A Voice for Every Child
We are a community of dedicated volunteers committed to ensuring that every child who has experienced abuse or neglect has a powerful advocate standing beside them throughout their journey in the foster care system.
Where We Came From
Our CASA chapter was founded in the early 1990s when a small group of concerned citizens recognized that children caught in the court system needed more than legal representation — they needed someone who truly knew them. Inspired by Judge David Soukup's pioneering model in Seattle, our founders trained the first cohort of Court Appointed Special Advocates and placed them inside our local family courts.
Since those first placements, we have grown from a handful of volunteers serving a few dozen children annually into a thriving chapter that mobilizes hundreds of advocates across the region, touching thousands of young lives.
Our Mission
To recruit, train, and support community volunteers who provide consistent, compassionate advocacy for abused and neglected children in our local court system — ensuring each child's needs and best interests are heard and met.
Our Vision
A community in which every child who has experienced abuse or neglect is safe, has a permanent home, and has the opportunity to thrive.
What We Stand For
These principles guide every decision we make — from how we train our volunteers to how we show up for each child.
-
Commitment
Our advocates stay with a child from their first court hearing until a safe, permanent home is secured — no matter how long that takes.
-
Voice
We believe every child deserves to be heard. Our volunteers speak up in court, in schools, and in every room that shapes a child's future.
-
Integrity
We act with honesty and transparency, placing the child's best interests above all else and holding ourselves accountable to the highest ethical standards.
-
Equity
We are committed to dismantling disparities in the child welfare system and ensuring our advocacy is culturally informed and inclusive.
-
Community
We draw our strength from neighbors helping neighbors, building a network of support that extends far beyond the courtroom.
-
Excellence
Continuous learning and rigorous training ensure our volunteers deliver the highest quality advocacy every single time.
Our Impact in Numbers
Real change, measured in children's lives.
"My CASA volunteer was the only constant in my life for three years. She came to every single hearing. She made sure my teachers knew what I was going through. She never gave up on me."
